Organized in 1923, the Pittsburgh Figure Skating Club is one of the oldest clubs in the United States. As one of over 480 member clubs of U.S. Figure Skating, the Pittsburgh Figure Skating Club seeks to encourage participation in the sport of figure skating by all persons.

The club is saddened to learn that one of their long-time members – Richard List – passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Dick was very active in the club, served as President a number of times and also taught the adults in the club’s Basic Skills Program at Schenley Park each winter. Visitation is Monday, March 2, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 806 Perry Highway – North Hills. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
The club is saddened with the news of one of their coaches – Igor Novodran – passing away after a tragic accident while flying his plane on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. It is a loss to those who knew him and to his students who loved him, and especially his wife, Lana and daughter, Anastasia. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
For those of you who would like to remember and honor Igor, a donation page has been set up to help his fmaily with the burdens that this tragedy has left behind as they try to put the pieces of their lives back together after such a great loss.
Igor, we will miss you.
Reminder – 6 hours of volunteer time per skater needs to be completed for the new skating year (2016-17). Many opportunities are available: club ice monitor Sunday afternoons beginning in September; test sessions; at the club’s Learn-to-Skate program at Schenley Park Ice Rink beginning in December; annual Skate Pittsburgh competition. Members not fulfilling the 10 hours must pay $120.00.
